High Performance Solar Cells
Calisolar uses innovative, vertically integrated manufacturing technology to produce high performance solar cells. Calisolar’s customers integrate these solar cells into industry standard 60-cell modules. Photovoltaic modules manufactured using Calisolar cells have passed all rigorous industry tests needed to demonstrate the robustness of Calisolar technology and have been certified by industry-recognized third-party listing bodies. The certification process includes stress testing the module to demonstrate the performance, durability, efficiency, stability and safety of the cells in the module over an extended period of time.
Since starting commercialization in late 2009, Calisolar has focused on meeting market requirements and improving the overall performance of the cells in an effort to lower the overall cost of solar, a requirement for large-scale industrial use. Average cell efficiencies are over 16 percent. More than 10MW have been installed and connected to the grid, and this number is rapidly increasing.
